Mastodon CrossFit is the place to be. When you sign up for a membership you are signing up for a tight knit community, a fun loving gym family, and an incredible support system. Every single person has been so welcoming, kind, and encouraging. Coach Zak and Coach Jacquie are top notch as well. They take you through warm up prep, model each movement, offer up advice for scaling options and alternative movements, make corrections and suggestions as needed, and so much more. The coaches are also very knowledgeable about health and nutrition, different injuries, and various medical conditions and they do their best to meet you where you are in your fitness journey.
I have been coming to Mastodon for a year and a half now and this is my forever gym and my safe place. There is no where else I’d rather be.
1 year ago I decided to join a gym I never in a million years thought I’d join. My goals were to get skinny and blow off some steam. What I didn’t expect was to learn so much about my body, what I was capable of, mobility, and how being strong was going to be a much bigger asset for my life than skinny. I’ve always had an appreciation for athletes and their skills, so being able to see people all shapes, sizes, ages, and limitations, hit their goals, even if it’s the most minor, has been so inspirational. I’ve been humbled more than I have wanted to be, and have managed to take it with grace and just use it has a tool to push myself. On top of it all, I’ve met some amazing humans. So I guess the point of this 1 year fitness journey has been, skinny is not everything. Moving your body consistently and celebrating even the smallest of goals is always going to be better than doing nothing. Thanks coach Jacquie Calender for always celebrating me even when I don’t think I deserve it and being such an inspiration to women and athletes.
P.s. these shoes won’t help anyone doing the fitness. Proper shoes are necessary. Mastodon Strength & Conditioning
